Disneyland

Its been twenty years since these feet set foot in the Happiest Place on Earth. I will admit a bit of concern as technology has taken over all our lives how it would translate at Disney..we were unsure if the simply beautiful magic of the park would still exist.

All my concerns were 100% unfounded. We were, once again, blown away by how they keep Walts dream alive in Disneyland .

As we walked past this statue of Walt and Mickey in California Adventure my 5 year old grandson said ” Mima! That’s the same man as the picture in our rooms!” How he recognized that man in this statue…well. Magic.

Here is the photo in our room at Disneyland Hotel

Here is the statue.. so strange he recognized Walt but.. the whole place is Magic and so we stopped, took this photo and I explained to him.. it all started with a mouse! A pencil and paper and a simple mouse! One idea from one creative man.

If you haven’t been in years , I recommend waiting until your grandkids are tall enough to ride the rides.. the 5 year old was able to ride everything but the 2.5 year old missed out on some of the rides that require 40 inch minimum. Also.. it’s all MAGIC at 5/6! I think age 6 is so perfect for belief in fairytales, pirates and flying elephants! They were too tired for night activities the first night but stayed a little longer the second night at California adventure. Important lodging info.. request Disneyland Hotel Adventure tower with a view of fireworks on high floor. All our requests came through and got a great view of Park and fireworks..with them in jammies. The headboards also light up with pin lights and with soft music. The TVs have all the regular channels but also a sweet story time channel.

The characters still take time with each child which can mean a wait. Its worth it because the child is given great attention. Bring an autograph book!

Disneyland was amazing back with our children but to find that same level of joy with grandkids is beyond wonderful.
