…so I said “Oohhhh, I have an idea!”and he said ” Great Idea.. let’s do it!”
So for one of the very rare moments in our long, loving and traveling union.. we were spontaneous.
First, I cannot say enough about Hawaiian Airlines. The moment you step on plane, you are in the Islands. On a 5 hour flight it really works. Any extra Aloha you can grab is worth it.
A Weekend in Hawaii at the Four Seasons Ko Olina.
This beautiful resort is tucked inside a cove that has a breakwater that creates a pure white sandy beach beyond compare. Seriously the most perfect beach I have been to. Yes, That is a floating cocktail bar! #fsoahu
The resort itself is underwent a 60 million dollar renovation, it does not disappoint.
Our Darling kids lei’d us with fragrant floral wedding flowers upon check in. The Four Seasons is a wedding destination and watching a beautiful beachside wedding is a great way to reminisce about our own nuptials.. just a short time ago it seems.
A perfectly lovely weekend drive up the coast with great friends…to a picture perfect wedding of the son of more great friends….in a storybook Apple Orchard . Congrats Mike and Olivia Reis…and proud parents.
The Toll House Inn in Booneville. Our two night home away from home. Whole house is rentable…no tvs…but loads of board games and well located.
The views, wineries, micro breweries and peaceful locations in this beautiful Anderson Valley are extrordinary. We had never been here in the many years we have lived in Northern California. Near Ukiah California
Area is flush with fun things to see and do.
Wonderful friends…and mother of groom glowing on wedding day.
This year marks the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s birth and many celebrations are happening across our beautiful country. Another great reason for us to travel (almost) coast to coast.
All the Canadian National Parks are free to public this year as well as festivals everywhere!
Our hometown of Montreal is also celebrating as this fabulous city turns 375 years! A tad older than California.
We arrived and had dinner with great friends in Pointe Claire, Steve and Gayle Ryan then drove across the Island of Montreal to Brossard and a stay with Brian’s parents Bob and Irene.
So many memories of growing up on West Island. Lots has changed but much remains. Since Brian and I went to high school together, our memories are all mostly shared and reminiscing is fun and sometimes at odds!
( Brian, Bob and Irene)
So wonderful to start this trip visiting my beautiful mom in Vancouver
( my mum Val King and Ginny)
and end it with my lovely Inlaws in our hometown just as Spring arrives. Brian and his mom are yelling and screaming at TV ( as I write this) in next room as they watch the first game of Stanley Cup Hockey Finals. All is right with world!
We were able to spend time with Brian’s cousins here, my nephews and their beautiful young families , my sister and her husband in BC and explore the Rockies, Banff and Lake Louise.
Truly a wonderful trip and we remain very thankful to all who helped make it so wonderful. If you have not experienced Canada, it’s cultures, vistas and people maybe
this is your year as well!
Ok Canada… you have our attention!
From 80 degrees yesterday
